FAQs
You might have a few questions before starting a video production project, so we’ve tried to answer some of them. If yours isn’t covered here, or you want to ask us some more, please get in touch!

Video production can cost anywhere from £1,000 to £100,000, depending on the scope and budget of the project.
Key things that affect pricing include the number of filming days, complexity of the post-production process and time spent travelling to and from various locations. Longer videos with multiple locations and shoot days cost more, shorter videos with simple edits and one location cost less.
We’ve put together a Pricing Guide to give you an idea of the cost of projects of different sizes.
-
A - Pre-production This starts with establishing the purpose of the video and writing a script. We’re always happy to give feedback on scripts! Then locations and a thorough production schedule need to be established.
B - Production This includes travelling to locations, filming A-roll, B-roll, and capturing audio using our professional camera and sound equipment.
C - Post-production Video editing, colour grading and audio editing are the three key components of the post-production process. We’ll start by putting together a video edit, which we’ll send to you to review. After you send us notes, we’ll action them. When everyone's happy with the edit, we move on to colour grading and audio editing. -
Anywhere from one day to several years! This depends on the scope of your project and the budget available. It’s best to get in touch with us to discuss specifics.

You don’t need us for all of your videos, we get it!
If you need to film some videos in house, you can use your phone. It’s 2026, phone cameras have gotten better and you don’t need high production quality for all of your videos.
For anything which DOES requires higher production value, we recommend getting in touch with us and organising a production day. We bring thousands of pounds worth of equipment and hundreds of hours worth of experience to shoots. This makes your shoot stress free in comparison to filming everything yourself!
-
Backing up footage We always backup footage as soon as the shoot is over to make sure that your project is safe.
Organising footage into files such as A-roll, B-roll, logos. The way we organise footage differs a lot depending on the scope of the project we’re working on.
Sourcing music We source music for your project and ensure that there are no copyright issues with this.
First edit We create a first edit and send it to you for review.
Second edit After you send us feedback, we take this on board and create a second edit for you.
Third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh edit….only joking! We usually find that three re-edits is the perfect amount for most projects. Once we’re picture locked, we move on to…
Colour grading We apply colour correction and colour grading to your final edit.
Audio editing Potentially the most underappreciated part of the process! We take time and effort to make sure that all dialogue and voice overs and clear and that the music we use fits the aesthetic of your video. -
Not all videos need scripts, however if you would like to include a voiceover or presenter as part of your video, then we can work together with you on a script, or if you’d like to share some notes and ideas with us, we can take it from there.
-
We’ve got you covered! We bring cameras, shoulder rigs, tripods, monitors, microphones, sometimes lights and any other pieces of equipment that are required for video production. We can tell you our equipment list upon request and can hire any specialty items as long as there is room in the budget for it.
-
We specialise in video production and post-production. We can give tips on how to market your video but we always recommend hiring a dedicated marketing person to help you get your video in front of the right people! Thankfully we know some great people in marketing and can give recommendations upon request.
-
Generally we shoot with vertical aspect ratios in mind for social media. That being said, we had some high performing landscape videos on Instagram last year too so it doesn’t hurt to try both out and see what works best for your business and your audience!
We use Davinci Resolve to edit all of our videos and it offers a wide range of export options so that videos are formatted correctly for social media.
-
Common challenges include clashing schedules, unpredictable weather if you're filming outdoors and short turnaround times. We always recommend giving us as much notice as possible for projects. Thankfully we’ve dealt with all of these problems multiple times and have developed ways around them! Feel free to get in touch even if your project is happening very soon. We will always try to make your project happen where possible.
-
B-roll is footage which is layered on top of A-roll. A-roll is often an interview or a video clip that ties you to the main storyline of the video, where B-roll can illustrate a point or create a mood, adding visual interest to a project.

Trends are hard to predict. However, our predictions are a rise in “retro tech” videos with the use of camcorders, film cameras, even flip phones, to capture that nostalgic feeling. We’ve enjoyed using some of these in our work! We also predict a further rise in the use of video on Linkedin.

The definition of success depends on you as an individual or organisation. At Green Dungaree Productions, we call a video a success when we make it as good as we can possibly make it. We believe very firmly in this model of success and we never finish a project without making it as effective and professional as possible.
